Welcome to the DOMAINE COUDOULET, located in Minervois region, in Languedoc…

A SUSTAINABLE VINEYARD FROM THE SOUTH OF FRANCE AND A FAMILY PHILOSOPHY

Since 1840, the OURNAC family have been driven by the need to PROTECT our Languedoc land, TRANSMIT it, and MAINTAIN a sustainable vineyard. The Domaine Coudoulet is the challenge of a lively family project, creating elegant wines which we have taken pride in SHARING for 8 generations.

Located on the foothills of the Black Mountain in the heart of the Minervois region, our precious vines grow in a clay-limestone soil. The hillsides are surrounded by garrigue, junipers, thymes, holm oaks, wild lavender, almond and olive trees, they are located between 80 and 350 m above sea level and tempered by the crisp mountain air.

The basis of our production philosophy is to harvest grapes of exceptional quality. Obtaining them is the result of our WINEMAKER know-how. Vinification is almost traditional. We do not pretend to invent, everything lies with the balance, the ability to combine time and human action. Blending happens according to our accumulate knowledge as well as the unique character of each of our plots.

CHÂTEAU CESSERAS Faithful to our Terroir

The AOP Minervois and Cru La Livinière are great red wines built around Syrah. Our Piedmont terroir allows us to create subtle wines, where we chose finesse over opulence. Our best Syrahs in velvet gloves!

minervois
  • The quintessence of the estate, the treasure, the very best. First “village appellation” of Languedoc ever. La Livinière comes from the Occitan word “Lavineira” attested in 1069 meaning “place planted with vines”.

Our Château Cesseras La Livinière 2011 obtained the grail in 2014 by winning the international Decanter trophy.

It is made of Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache and Carignan, and partly aged in oak barrels. A powerful and elegant wine full of freshness! It is kept in a bottle topped with wax and dressed with a refined label.

  • The delicate and friendly CUVEE OLRIC, made from Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan and carefully aged in concrete tank. The perfect BALANCE between black fruit, silky tannins and soft spices!

DOMAINE COUDOULET Wines without complex

Under the name “DOMAINE COUDOULET”, you will find fruity wines, faithful to the typicality of each grape variety as well as to the personality of our family estate. The IGP PAYS D’OC wine range is adorned with harmoniously colored pantone label, with screw caps for more freshness and simplicity. Available in cardboard boxes of 6 or 12 bottles.

A lively and slightly salty PINOT GRIS, an addictive VIOGNIER, a greedy PINOT NOIR, a dazzling MERLOT, a mineral PETIT VERDOT, and an incredibly elegant SYRAH... what a team!

OURNAC FRERES Limited Editions

Wines vinified with low intervention. Free expression of our cravings, the harvested grapes and the vintage.

OURNAC FRERES wines carry original labels taking up the graphical codes of the political newspapers of 1900. Our great-great-grandfather and his brother practiced their talent as cartoonists next to their wine business: “Ournac Frères”. Labels are printed on recycled paper.

We elaborate new products every year.
STAY TUNED: a dapper sparkling Verdejo, a white Carignan... and other surprises.

  • LE BRAQUE, made from a particular variety “petite syrah”, a spontaneous cross between Peloursin x Syrah. A structured wine, with precise spices flavours.

  • Very limited vintages, numbered bottles carrying various colors of labels in the same box. Selected grapes, harvested by hand, vinified with native yeasts, slowly infused and aged in barrels or demi-muids. Our Pinot Noir would make a Burgundian jealous, slightly toasted, it astonishes with its notes of cherry, and a minty finish.
